Overview

To become a Mental Health First Aider, you must complete a two day MHFA course.

This is our most comprehensive awareness and skills course which includes a mix of presentations, discussions and group work activities.

Every MHFA course is delivered by a quality assured instructor.

Anyone can attend an MHFA course but an interest in mental health and wellbeing is desirable. When you have completed the course, you will receive a certificate to confirm that you are a trained Mental Health First Aider.

Course Content

  • Spotting the early signs and symptoms of mental ill health
  • Starting a supportive conversation with a colleague who may be experiencing a mental health issue or emotional distress
  • Listening to the person non-judgmentally
  • Assessing the risk of suicide or self-harm
  • Encouraging the person to access appropriate professional support or self-help
  • Escalation to the appropriate emergency services when necessary
  • Maintaining confidentiality as appropriate
  • Completing critical incident documents
  • Protecting yourself whilst performing the role

One you have completed the course, you should have an advanced knowledge surrounding a variety of mental health issues. The course is designed to help you implement what you have been taught to support friends, family and co-workers.

Yes. Here at Grow Training, we offer three different ways to learn - virtual classroom, e-learning and face-to-face classroom training. We can provide training Mental Health First Aid in Glasgow in person on a variety of dates across the year, so you can choose a time to meet your requirements.

To become a Mental Health First Aider, you must complete our course which runs over 2 days. You can attend any of our training for Mental Health First Aid in Glasgow, Edinburgh and the surrounding areas, or alternatively, you can enrol on our virtual training courses.

Here at Grow Training, we are flexible in the ways in which we can deliver training for Mental Health First Aid in Edinburgh, Glasgow and across the UK. You can choose from 3 methods - virtual classrooms, e-learning and face-to-face training. There is a big difference between e-learning and virtual classrooms; that being that virtual classroom training sessions are wholly interactive and led by a qualified IOSH trainer.

Yes. Here at Grow Training, we can provide face-to-face classroom training for Mental Health First Aid in Edinburgh. Participants will complete a 2-day course led by an experienced and qualified IOSH presenter.

Prices for our Mental Health First Aid courses vary dependent upon training style. Virtual classroom training starts at £195.00 per participant, whereas face-to-face classroom training starts at £275.00 per participant.
