Overview
The NEBOSH Certificate Refresher course is for those who already hold a NEBOSH National General Certificate (NGC) and are looking to update and refresh their knowledge. The course covers changes to legislation, latest H&S developments and signifiant changes to industry within the past 5 years.
The course is delivered over 1 full day either in person at one of our training centres or via our highly interactive Virtual Classroom platform. We are also able to offer this course in-house at your premises if you have six or more staff looking to take part.
Those attending and successfully completing the course will receive a Grow Training NGC Refresher Certificate.
Please Note: The NGC Refresher course is certificated by Grow Training and not directly accredited by NEBOSH.

The NEBOSH Certificate Refresher course is for those who have already gained their NEBOSH National General Certificate and are looking to update and refresh their knowledge.
The course is designed for delegates who completed the original course 3-5 years ago, although we'll accept delegates who achieved their original certificate prior to this.
The course is fully delivered over one day.
A NEBOSH General Certificate is a qualification and as such does not expire in the same way a First Aid certificate might. However, those with Health & Safety responsibilities are expected to keep their knowledge up-to-date via continual professional development (CPD). The NGC Refresher is designed to ensure delegates are kept up to date with the latest legal and industrial changes.
Some companies require that refresher training is undertaken every 3-5 years.
We deliver these sessions via a virtual classroom hosted on the 'Zoom' web conferencing software. This allows you to complete the training from your workplace or home using a computer or tablet device.
When you sign up to the course, you will be sent joining instructions which will include a link that will install the application on your device and take you to the virtual classroom.
No! E-Learning is a pre-recorded course, a little like an interactive book.
Our virtual sessions are delivered live by a qualified and experienced NEBOSH presenter. You will be encouraged to interact at all times and will complete practical sessions with other delegates via virtual break-out rooms.
We limit course numbers to allow all delegates to interact and ask questions throughout, ensuring you gain the specific knowledge and skills you need for your industry sector and workplace.
Yes! We've made joining our virtual classroom very straightforward. When you sign up to the course you will be sent an email that contains a link to the virtual classroom. A single click of this link will download the application to your device and take you straight to the virtual classroom.

If attending virtual classroom sessions we recommend you use a computer, laptop or tablet device with the following minimum specifications:
- Robust broadband internet connection (minimum bandwidth 1.5 Mbps)
- Speakers and a microphone (or earphones with built-in microphone)
- A webcam (built-in or USB plugin)
No! Our premium zoom account will cover you for the duration of the training. There is no need for you to sign up for an account.
Completing the NEBOSH Certificate Refresher with Grow Training via our Virtual Classroom costs £150 + VAT.

Yes - you are required to already have achieved a NEBOSH NGC Certificate.
NEBOSH currently don't offer an NGC Refresher course. Grow Training have developed this course independently of NEBOSH as many of our past delegates were requesting a follow-up course to ensure their knowledge was kept up to date.
Grow Training remain a NEBOSH learning partner and the course is always delivered by one of our accredited NEBOSH NGC presenters.
Successful delegates will gain a Grow Training certificate.
IOSH (The Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) is the Chartered body and leading membership organisation for safety and health professionals.
NEBOSH (The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) is an examination board offering qualifications and courses in health, safety, environment and well-being management.
Both organisations offer training courses however they are quite different.
NEBOSH General Certificate is a higher level qualification than IOSH Managing Safely for example. Some people complete both qualifications.
A NEBOSH General Certificate qualifies a person to become a Technical Member of IOSH (techIOSH).

The NEBOSH General Certificate is an internationally recognised Health & Safety qualification and can certainly bolster a CV. The certificate qualifies a person to become a Technical Member of IOSH (techIOSH) and is a good first step toward a career in Health & Safety Management.
In the UK, the NEBOSH General Certificate is equivalent to an SCQF Level 6 qualification. This is comparable to NQF/QCF Level 3 in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, or A-level standard.
We aim to get the course results to you within 7 days and the certificate within 3 weeks of taking the course . The NEBOSH NGC Refresher certificate is digital and distributed via email.
